Seminar on Social Security, Tax and Financial Planning for Expats in China

February 20 / 10:00 am - 11:30 am UTC+8

On the occasion of the entry into force of the new Income Tax Act in January 2019, the experts from Ecovis Beijing and Expatriate Care Consult GmbH will inform you about the best possible protection and planning in the areas of taxes, social security and personal finances. Against the background of the income tax reform 2019 in China, this seminar shows ways to optimize income tax and personal financial planning.

In the case of long-term employment in China, German and other foreign employees are faced with a multitude of questions regarding their employment relationship, the best contract design and the resulting insurance issues. After participation in the Chinese social security system became mandatory for foreigners in 2012, these issues became more complex. With the new Income Tax Act, which was fundamentally reformed this year, more significant changes are imminent for foreign employees. In particular, the newly introduced tax housing concept and the new tax deduction regulations require appropriate adjustments to the structuring of employment contracts and, if necessary, to the remuneration of foreign employees in China.

Our seminar will show how employment relationships can be optimized against the background of social security law and the new tax law and how expatriates can adequately and sustainably secure themselves for a long-term stay in China and a return to Germany.
