Investment in Germany (Presentation on Sinotrade Online)

On the 9th of August, the premiere of the Chinese state council, Li Keqiang, visited Germany and met the Chancellor of Germany – Angela Merkel. Both sides highlighted the importance of the Chinese-German economic ties to the world and expressed their intention to deepen bilateral cooperation and supporting free world trade, by increasing global trade and supporting economic recovery.
“Germany Trade & Invest” released a report about foreign companies who are investing in Germany in 2017. This report highlights the total number of Chinese investment projects which was the second highest ranking. In 2017 the number of Chinese investment projects in Germany was as high as 2018. The report also shows that Chinese investments concentrate on sales and services, the financial sector, electronic semi-conductors, as well as consumer goods and foods. To Germany, China is the most important origin country of foreign investment. Germany as the largest market in EU, its “made in Germany” high-quality products as well as the excellent research environment are the most important reasons why Chinese companies invest in Germany.
Mr. Richard Hoffmann, co-founder of the consulting company Ecovis Beijing, will explain in this speech “Investment in Germany”, organised by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, in detail why Germany is the best location for Chinese companies and investors under the consideration of economic, law and tax aspects, and what are the most important aspects of investment. He will also provide a guideline for Chinese companies to establish a company in Germany as well as how to merge and acquire a German company while regarding the aspects of law and tax. Besides, he will also introduce the investments in the German real estates as well as explain different types of visa and residence permit for expats or self-employed people in Germany.
