Webinar for Chinese Investors: German Labor Law, Social Insurance, Income Tax, Visa Policy

In its latest Country-risk Rating of Overseas Investment from China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences ranks Germany number one out of 57 analyzed countries. This means that Germany is the least risky country for Chinese foreign direct investments (FDIs). Germany not only leads in manufacturing and trade. The country is also a highly attractive destination for investments. Germany Trade & Invest identifies 10 reasons for Germany´s attractiveness in terms of FDI: vital economy, global player, high productivity rates, skilled workers, innovative spirit, excellent infrastructure, attractive subsidies, competitive tax rates, security and stability, high quality of life.
But there are also challenges to foreign investors: Germany has an intricate legal system and an utterly different mode of thinking and of doing business. On August 15, Ecovis Beijing and the SGET Group are another webinar. This time, we explain what Chinese companies and individuals as well as employers and employees need to know about German labor law, HR, social insurance, income tax and visa/residence policy.

Zhiruo Zhao is a manager in our business development and marketing team. In our Heidelberg office, she is the primary contact person for Chinese and international customers who she supports in their endeavors to master the challenges of the German market. Ms. Zhao focuses on areas such as company formation, labor law, human resource management and German VAT compliance for e-commerce sellers. Ms. Zhao teaches Chinese law at SRH Hochschule Heidelberg as a guest lecturer.
Ms. Zhao has been living in Germany for 9 years. She studied in Chongqing (China), Osnabrueck and Heidelberg. Before joining Ecovis Beijing in 2016, she worked for a marketing research company in the field of ma, social security,
ermititrketing and data analysis. Previously, she worked on several projects for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in China and Germany. Ms. Zhao speaks Chinese, English, German and Spanish.
